How Private Is OxnaPDF?
Your documents are yours. OxnaPDF works on your device, keeps no copy of your files, and has no accounts, adverts or tracking.
What Stays on Your Device
- PDFs you open in the desktop app, and everything you do to them: notes, highlights, signatures, redactions and saved copies.
- Your library, its search index and your Ask AI history.
- Files you use in the 51 online tools. They are processed inside your browser and are never uploaded to us.
- With Local AI (Ollama, LM Studio or another local model), your questions and answers too. Nothing leaves your computer, and no internet connection is needed.
What We Never Do
- We do not look at, store or keep your PDFs.
- We do not keep your questions, passages or AI answers.
- We do not use analytics, tracking or adverts, in the app or on the website.
- We do not ask you to create an account to use OxnaPDF.
When Something Does Leave Your Device, and Where It Goes
Only when you ask an AI a question, and only to the service you choose.

Updates
The desktop app checks oxfordpdf.com for a newer version. It is a plain request for the list of versions, with no cookies and nothing about you or your files; the app compares versions itself. You can turn the check off in Settings.
